Replacement Brake Assembly and Grease Seal for AL-KO T44 Axle

I looked at the brakes that say they will fit my trailer but my measurements are different then yours. My 2012 keystone hornet platinum 285rks has t44 alco 4400 lb axles and al-co brakes. P/n on the brakes are 0911 494. My measurements from stud to stud is 2 7/8 inches. Not tapered like the brakes that you recommended. I’m trying to buy the axle seals and brakes ASAP.

For your AL-KO T44 axles, the brake assemblies you need are the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 4.4K # K23-478-479 or the manual adjust # K23-462-463-00 along with spoon adjuster # W80630.

The grease seal you want is AL-KO part 568861 which is the Grease Seal - Double Lip - ID 1.719" / OD 2.565" # RG06-050 for a set of 2 seals.

That is great news. The more standard fit typically not AL-KO has the standard 2-7/8 inch non-tapered brake flange. I recommend the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Self-Adjusting - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3,500 lbs # AKEBRK-35-SA for your brake assemblies. I believe you will still need the same grease seals # RG06-050. You can use a digital caliper like # PTW80157 to confirm the measurement on the outer spindle at that seal location for the inner diameter and then the inside of the hub for the outer diameter of the seal. I've attached a video to assist with this.

@JasonS Hi Whats the specific difference between the AKEBRK-35-SA and a Dexter K23-469-00? Both fit ALKO T44 axle brake flange bolt pattern all other dimensions seems to match exactly? Help, Ken

@KenD The only difference between the # etrailer Electric Trailer Brakes # AKEBRK-35-SA and Dexter # 23-469 is simply the brand name. Both brake assemblies will fit exactly the same and are both self-adjusting so once they are "bedded" you'll be good to go and won't have to adjust the brakes again. The # 23-469 is sold as just the right-hand side so you'll need the left-hand side # 23-468 as well if you go with the Dexter brand.

Hi Dale, it looks like you have the resurrected 4,400 lb hubs like #DX53WR with the #L68149 inner and outer bearing. These had been phased out but are making a comeback. You also need #L68111 for the races and 10-19 grease seals #RG06-050.
