Question:
What is the difference between, besides price, trailer hub AKHD-655-35-K and hub AKHD-655-35-EZ-k? I have lippert 4400 lb axles. It does have the ez lube zerk fitting. Does it matter which one I use? Thanks

Hey John, the difference between those two part numbers is the grease cap that comes with the hub. The part # AKHD-655-35-EZ-k has a grease cap that has a removable center plug for easier access to a grease fitting like what you have whereas the part # AKHD-655-35-k has a solid grease cap without the plug. It sounds like you would need the part # AKHD-655-35-EZ-k.

I like the version that has the removable center hub that allows you access the ez lube zerk fitting w/o removing the hubcover/lug nuts. As you may know when lubing with ez lube you must keep the wheel spinning to allow the grease to move thru the bearings & axel. I have blown out the inner seal when I did not do that. Keeping the hub cover & wheel on lets you spin the wheel easier. Also, they advise that you do not use a compressed air driven grease gun. I have also blown out the inner seal doing that. Now I set the PSI regulator to 35 PSI and have had no problems.
