Question:
It appears that this should fit the puck pattern on my 2020 GMC 2500HD pickup, crew cab, short bed. I dont need a slider because the front corners on my Keystone Cougar are rounded to permit shorter turn radius. Will this fit my pickup? I will be towing a Keystone Cougar with a total weight rating of 10,000 pounds.

Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt A16, part # C74FR would be an excellent choice, and is compatible with your 2020 GMC Sierra 2500. The Curt A series uses a unique interlocking hitch jaw that contacts the king pin all around its circumference, this greatly reduces the rattling and banging caused by the king pin moving around in the pin box.
If you don't already have a 7-way installed in your truck bed, you can install one using part # C56000.
I've linked to a product description video for the Curt A16 and an install video for the trailer wiring harness I recommended.

My new hitch is installed in my pickup but I can't remove the safety pin which secures the handle in the closed position as the head of the safety pin is too large and can't get by the overhanging metal plate. Why such a large head on this pin?
