Question:
I think I may have misspoke. I am looking for something that will keep someone from hitching up my trailer when it is unhitched & unattended. Need something that will address the hitch part the ball goes in, easy enough to find, but would like something that also does something with the safety chains so they cannot be used to tow the trailer away even though the hitch part is hopefully unaccessable. Does any such thing exsist for the standard bullnose hitch found on a typical bumper pull horse trailer?

I am not aware of any chain lock. We do have some ball mounts like the B&W Tow & Stow 3-Ball Mount - 2" Hitch - 5" Drop, 5-1/2" Rise - 10K - Black # BWTS10048B which when using a locking hitch pin like # 63232 will secure the shank and ball to the hitch receiver. The Curt Channel Style # C45900 will also secure the ball and mount using # C23556. If you want to secure a coupler to the ball you can use # BD580403.
If you really want to secure your chains, you can use a cable lock like # 99KADSPT through chain loops of the hitch receiver and then the chain links themselves. This won't replace the hooks which would still be the strength rating needed but would add an extra security measure.
