Correct Reese Goose Box for Lippert 1621 Pin Box

I have one other item I'd be interested in your opinion. In addition to the Gooseneck box I will be ordering either the BWGNXA2062 or RP30140. Do you have a suggestion between the two. Chains #49150. I am also considering whether I should use an offset goose hitch ball (4 or 5 inches) since I do not have an eight foot box. Your opinion counts. Thanks

Thank you for those measurements, they were perfect, and we do have the exact Reese Goose Box you need. What your measurements show is that you have a Lippert 1621 pin box, so the 20,000 lbs Goose Box you need is:

- Reese Goose Box # RP85FR

This Goose Box is going to be a great upgrade for your trailer and give you a way to very comfortably tow your fifth wheel with your gooseneck hitch.

The Safety Chains # 49150 will work with the Reese Goose Box # RP94716, and will also fit the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit # BWGNXA2062. And though either will work for you, when it comes to quality, B&W really does stand out above the rest. We also prefer the B&W gooseneck ball because it has a handle that makes it easier to install and remove in the bed than the Reese ball, which has a plastic handle on top of the ball. Additionally, the Reese chain attachments for the puck system can be troublesome for some because they are wider than most. So between the two I do recommend the B&W Ball and Safety Chain Kit # BWGNXA2062. There is not an offset gooseneck ball that fits the puck system of your 2018 Ram 3500, though I can give you a formula that will let you know if you can make a full 90 degree turn or not, which should be useful information for you. You will use this formula: (A + B) - C = Clearance A = Distance from center of gooseneck ball to truck cab B = Length of offset (this will be zero for the Goose Box and no offset ball) C = Width of trailer divided by 2 If "Clearance" equals 4 you will be able to make a 90 degree turn. And although it is probably unlikely you'll be able to make a 90 degree turn, that sharp of a turn is rarely absolutely necessary and you will have plenty of room for normal driving.
