Question:
My 2005 Highlander with factory/dealer tow package apparently is a class 3 hitch 2 receiver but it is a tubular unit with NO flat steel cut out for the exhaust and no legible ID lable. What brand is it, and can I add a weight distribution accessory to tow a 17 Travel trailer?

Unfortunately I can't identify that hitch on your 2005 Toyota Highlander. It doesn't look like any we currently carry for your vehicle. We have two options that are WD system compatible and one that isn't, so I can't confirm that you will have that capability although it does look sturdy. The only confident recommendation I can make since we can't ID that hitch is to replace it with # e98857 which is rated for WD use.
If you choose to add a weight distribution system, our current hitches have a 400 lb tongue weight capacity when using a WD system. I recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 6,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW # FA92-00-0600 which will put that max tongue weight in the middle of the system for best performance. You will also use hitch ball # EQ91-00-6080 for this system.
