Replacement Air Conditioner for Carrier Air V

Updated 06/17/2025 | Published 03/23/2020

Question:

Would I be able to replace my Carrier Air V with a Dometic 15000 btu? My Carrier AirV has stopped blowing cold cold air and needs Freon but I can’t get any R22 Freon so I figured I would replace the whole unit.

You can replace your current Carrier Air V air conditioner with a whole new set up if you like, though I highly recommend simply replacing your unit with an Advent option that is designed to make it much easier. The Advent Air Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Carrier Setup - 15,000 BTU # ACCAR150 (White) or # ACCAR150B (Black).

These have an adapter wiring kit that allow you to make the installation much, much easier than a brand new set up.

Is the adapter wiring kit included? Are parts readily available for the Advent air conditioners? Does Etrailer, sell replacement fan motors., for example? Thanks! I have a customer interested, but I'm not finding parts are readily available.

@JenP Yes, the adapter wiring kit is included with the # ACCAR150. Parts, however, are not available for this aftermarket they would have to be from the manufacturer, Advent.

@KyleS I'm not having any luck following that link, is there a different part number I can search?

@JacobD It looks like that AC system has been discontinued, and you'll have to get a kit that replaces everything, unfortunately. The Advent Air Low Profile # ADV54QR is a great economy style AC unit while the Furrion Chill HE # FR45PV is more of a high-end kit.
