Updated 02/20/2025 | Published 02/17/2025

Question:

I have a 2020 ranger 4x4 xlt. Its wired for a brake controller. I need one with pigtail to pull a 3000 lb camper. I have had the prodigy 2 on other trucks. What do u recommend. Thanks

Hey Bob, thanks for reaching out!

I personally like the Prodigy P3 # 90195 because it's easier to use, but if you like the Prodigy 2 # 90885 and you want to keep things the same from truck to truck then I say go for it!

These come with the pigtails that have bare wires and will splice in to wiring near your driver's side firewall. There will be 4 wires sticking out of a large wiring harness that you'll use to do this. I'm attaching a link to an installation video of the P3 on a 2021 Ranger for your reference.

Were you looking to stick with the same type of controller, or were you wanting to mix it up? The Prodigy line of brake controllers is super reliable and easy to use which is why I figured you'd want to stay within the same lineup.
