Will a Gen-Y Torsion Trailer Coupler Work on a 10K Tilt Deck Trailer

Question:

I have a 10K PJ T5 tilt deck trailer I am interested in installing this hitch. My max tongue weight on tow vehicle is 700lbs. This hitch seems like overkill and not sure it would even work, but GEN Y dose not offer this style hitch in a smaller version. I just do not want the torsion hitch on the vehicle I like this trailer design. So my question is would this 16K even work on my much smaller max tongue weight and 10K towing issue? Thank you

The Gen-Y Hitch Contractor Torsion Flex Adjustable Channel Bracket part # 325-GH-10001 would do very little to absorb shock on a trailer of that size. It has an optimal tongue weight rating of 1100-1700 lbs. Which means it wouldn't really flex and give you the benefits you are looking for.

While you don't want to hear it the best bet is really to use the Gen-Y Torsion 2-Ball Mount part # 325-GH-1024 this will really improve the ride when hauling that trailer. It has an optimal range of 500-1000 lbs. putting it right on the money when it comes to performance with your application. Check out the video I did below on them.

You want to keep it from disappearing so think about the InfiniteRule Hitch Lock part # 34061072-D this is a very high quality locking hitch pin to keep it in place.
