Question:

Are the HSWB camper tie downs recommended for the 2017 Ford F-150 w/ Aluminum bed? I have read the side rails might not be able to handle the stress because it is aluminum. Any thoughts about that?

We have spoken with Brophy in the past and for a Ford F-150 with aluminum body such as your 2017 model they recommend using the Brophy Clamp On Camper Tie-Downs part # HSSF. There won't be any issues with these tie downs and an aluminum bed so long as you are not exceeding other figures such as payload capacity etc. In order to secure the truck bed camper to these tie-downs you will also need the Brophy Basic Turnbuckles w/ Hardware for Camper Tie-Downs part # TDHP.

Although certainly not the most cost effective route, there is frame mounted option with the TorkLift Custom Frame-Mounted Camper Tie-Downs part # TLF2018 and part # TLF3007. These would then work with the TorkLift SpringLoad XL Turnbuckles part # TLS9050A.
