Features to know about

Stable Handling on Every Mile: Frame-Mounted Strength

When you’re carrying a camper, you want it to feel like part of the truck—not something shifting around with every bump. These frame-mounted tie-downs connect directly to the strongest part of your vehicle’s structure so your camper rides solid and secure. By keeping the weight low and evenly distributed, they prevent sway and crosswind push so your handling stays predictable on long trips or rough roads.

Install Without Drilling: Custom-Fit Front Tie-Downs

These front tie-downs bolt straight into pre-existing holes in the frame so you don’t have to drill or cut anything. The custom-fit design mounts tight to the frame with minimal loss of ground clearance, giving you a clean setup that’s easy to live with whether your camper’s loaded or not. Everything you need for installation is included right in the box.

Clean Look When Not in Use: Removable Arms

Nobody wants bulky hardware sticking out when the camper’s off. With these tie-downs, you can remove the arms from the brackets in seconds, leaving almost nothing visible underneath. The brackets sit tucked up near the frame so your truck keeps its clean lines and stock appearance when you’re not hauling.

Strong and Corrosion-Resistant: Powder Coated Steel

Built from black powder coated steel, these tie-downs are made to handle years of weather, road grime, and heavy use. The durable finish helps resist rust and wear so the brackets keep their strength and good looks even after repeated exposure to rain or salt.

Simple Camper Hookup: Adjustable Anchor Points

Each arm offers two pin holes for reach adjustment, letting you extend them just enough to clear fenders or sidewalls for an ideal turnbuckle connection. Two anchor holes on the plate help you find the best angle to hold your camper steady from multiple directions—keeping everything locked down snug while you drive.

2006 Nissan Frontier
These worked perfectly on my 2006 Nissan Frontier Nismo Off-Road package King Cab pickup. I used this paired with a custom tie down for the rear bumper. I just bolted a square tube directly to the underside of the rear bumper. Easy and cheap.

My camper then easily connected to it via 4 turn buckles.

The only problem I had with this, was I almost couldn't install the second side, as I bent the bolt feeder (wire thing that guides the bolt through the frame) the thread feeder wraps around the threads and you then guide the wire through the frame and then pull the bolt through. It was not the easiest to do.

However, it is a good product that makes use of the existing holes so it is good that you don't have to drill new holes.

Overall good product. So far the paint has held up fairly well

eTrailer had incredible customer service helping me to the correct product after a couple of purchase and returns - unfortunately, out of eTrailers control, i had fitting issues with the tork lift tie downs on Nissan Pro 4X application - the frame hole cut outs on Tork Lifts were slightly off on 1 hole on each tie down - which i had to painstakingly modify as well as do some metal bending. I checked with the specs with tork lift and they do allow for a specific amount of modification from spec without affecting performance of the product - with that said, staying within that spec i was able to modify them just enough to get them to install. A lot of work - but worth it to have a better build frame mount product. I wish it could have been perfect but meh, sometimes factories on the auto and or after market parts side have just enough skew to make matching things up perfectly, difficult sometimes, is what it is. In the end, i was happy with everything and how things turned out.

This is my second truck that I have outfitted with Torklift frame mounted tie downs from etrailer. I carry big campers on my trucks and, in recent years, the Torklift system is the best option. They have worked flawlessly for me. I’m an older guy and I was able to install them myself with the help of an impact driver and torque wrench. It all went together in a couple hours. With today’s trucks, the metal in the beds is so thin that you can’t really mount directly to it any more without the weight of the camper levering on it and damaging it. Even the bumpers today are too thin to mount the old Happijack “buttons” for rear camper mounts. These custom designed Torklift mounts bolt directly onto the truck frame without touching the bed. They have extensions that stick out from under the bed when in place. Each of the four extensions easily removes when not needed and leave a “clean” look.

The service from etrailer is always good and fast. I have bought many things from them over the years. The people who answer the phones there know their products and give reliable, friendly advice. They have always been there for me whether I had tech questions, needed installation advise or (other product) shipping damage return, etc. I give the company my full endorsement.

Thanks John, we sure appreciate that! I'm glad to hear your tie-downs are working well for you...

This is the third set, third vehicle, I have installed these camper tie-downs on. Once you are used to torklift instructions/ pictures the installation is not that hard ( even for me at 74 years old). The torklift product itself is well made and works great.

These tiedowns were great. They fit my 2023 ford f350 4wd crew cab perfectly. They bolted on using existing holes and they included wire feeders to feed the bolts through all the holes. Everything was included in the kit and installation was pretty simple. Probably took an hour or so. Directions were very good and easy to follow. They hold my camper down very securely and are adjustable for various widths. Also easy to drill different hokes for custom widths. I highly recommend this tie down for this model truck.

These tie downs are sill working as advertised. I have travelled over 20,000 mi with them in various conditions with about 10 of that time in dirt roads or 4wd roads. Nothing too crazy, but with my camper and these tied downs I am confident that the camper will remain attached and be secure. It hardly moves around at all. They are worth the money and I can still remember how easily they installedvery welll thought out design and installation!

@Mark Thanks for the input! That definitely helps to paint a picture of the durability of these things! What has been your favorite trip so far?
by:
Product came promptly, however, part of the tie-down was sticking out through the box when delivered. Stronger packaging is suggested. Everything fit well and instructions were quite handy, making much of the otherwise difficult installation easier. There was mention of possible alteration of the emergency brake cable support if it was a manual system. Extra parts were even included if needed. However, on a 2025, 5.5' F-150, nothing was said about a main exhaust support being in the way of the passenger side's installation. The tie-downs are now installed but I'm still trying to figure out how to re-install the muffler support.

Hi Jim! I can see why that would be frustrating for sure. The good news is you usually don’t have to do anything drasticmost fixes come down to slightly repositioning the exhaust system rather than fully relocating it. That can mean loosening and adjusting a bolt-on hanger, adding a small spacer, or even tweaking the hanger position just enough to create some clearance. I’ll drop this article here since it walks through a few simple ways to fix it step-by-step, but overall you’re on the right track it’s typically just a matter of giving the exhaust a little more room so nothing is rubbing or under tension. This help article is about a hitch install but it still applies here.

The front mounts installed relatively easily with no drilling or modification. Instructions were ok, i recommend doing the passenger side first, as it has no gas tank in the wayand you will get the idea of the mount and order of tightening. I had to use double washers(provided) on the replacement bed bolt provided to make it work properly. The mounts themselves are solid and well made. Roughly .120 wall tubing. I sprayed cold galvanizing paint inside the tubes to prevent corrosion. etrailer’s service and shipping were top notch and fast. Total install about 4 hours, but I work slowly and take my time.

Very poor instruction manual...

The photos are very small with poor dark images and contrast. Also, the names of the nuts, bolts, and other items should have photos of each item with the description and name of that item in each photo.

It appears that you don't want to help the customer install it on his own.

The tie downs are well made and strong.

I will give you more feedback when I get deeper into the installation...

The camper tie down are solid and well worth the money. I installed them on my f250 to hold my camper and I just get in and go. Even in the mountain terrain.

We originally installed Happijack tiedowns in 2013 because that was the only option that the dealer offered and they did well until we unexpectedly went over a large hump in a highway road damaging the front tiedowns and the bumper! Once the damage was repaired, we decided to go with the frame mounted Torklyft tiedowns, which, although not inexpensive, are superior in my opinion to the non-frame tiedowns. Earlier this year we replaced the rear tiedowns prior to a trip to Alaska and they worked extremely well over the notoriously challenging roads thru the Yukon Territory and Alaska “highways”. Upon our return we replaced the front Happijack tiedowns with the Torklyft frame mounted tiedowns and so far are very pleased with the upgrade.

Glad to hear you are liking them, Milton! And I agree, the TorkLift tie downs are superior to the HappiJac tie downs. They are just more secure and heavier duty. At least in my opinion. And that sounds like quite the trip! Was it just a camping trip or did you do some fishing and or hunting?

Keep in mind the parameters of the application these may be different on another vehicle. Camper is a Northern lite 9-6. Vehicle Chevy 3500 LB SRW 4x4. Post install, in my opinion. I’d feel my comfortable if the ‘FastGun’ tie downs were facing opposing directions. Currently attaching to the designated anchor points all four FG’s angle from the TorkFit anchor point BACK towards the NL camper’s anchor points. This positively prevents the 3600 LB. camper from rearward movement. However FOWARD movement can and has occurred. After a necessary sudden braking event I checked my clearances and discovered that forward movement did occur. About, one inch. My NL slid far enough forward that contact was made between the vehicle and the camper. Realignment was necessary. From an Engineers perspective: the best anchorage would be achieved with the anchoring devices (FastGuns, in my case) installed in opposing directions. In the future I will be placing blocks between the camper and the front of the truck bed to eliminate any forward movement.

I reached out to the manufacturer. They advised that they think it is a combination of the Northern light camper anchor point location being situated so far back on the camper and possibly the front of the camper not being all the way against the bulkhead of the bed if it is moving forward still. Otherwise, everything looks typical of a truck camper and truck installation. If it has any room to slide forward, it will in a sudden braking situation.

Jenny thanks for your reply and diligence in reaching out to TorkFit. The NL camper does have forward bumpers for abutting the bulkhead. However when bulkhead contact is made the body of the my 21 Silverado makes contact with the fiberglass body of the camper. The pressure from a recent ‘sudden stop’ and ‘slide forward’ created enough pressure to chip paint on the truck. The bumpers make contact with the bulkhead about 10”-12” above the bed-bulkhead connection. The 90* corner at bottom, this should be the strongest area. I will install stop chocks at future loadings. I’ll also attempt to possibly install the TorkFits in a more vertical position. Thanks.

Jason was great to work with on getting the proper camper tie downs for my truck as it was a new truck and was a bit confused as to the proper application.
I had them installed within an hour. Even an armature bolt twister could do this!
I have used my camper a lot since putting these on my truck and will tell you these are THE MOST SECURE ANCHORS I have ever used on any of my trucks PERIOD!
You will not make a bad decision going with this product. I recommend these tie downs over any product available! I Don't normally give recommendations or endorse products. These I am truly impressed with.

The best system one can get for worry free camping. Etrailer communication and service has been superb.
by:
I had the mountings professionally attached to the frame. The hatches can be easily removed when not in use( and I would recommend that to keep them from being stolen). Using chains and turnbuckles, I feel very comfortable with my truck camper staying where it is.. does not rock, very solid.
It’s nice to feel secure about my camper staying firmly attached.
It was worth the investment.

A year later, I just got back from camping trip. I love the easy set up of these hitches. I’m a 65 year old woman, and I can put these mounts on my truck in less than five minutes. Then, another 10 or 15 to put the chains and turn buckles on, make them tight. I usually drive about 5 miles maybe 10, go get gas, and give all the chains a shake to make sure they’re still tight. If not, spin the turnbuckles a time or Two. And off, I go. I am extremely happy with this investment. Of all the things I bought after buying the camper, this has brought me the most security and feeling of safety. Good luck, happy camping whatever you decide.

Everything arrived without damage and all parts/pieces were there. It fit my 2024 RAM 3500 perfectly. I will note that installing the bolts was a challenge as it would take a small hand to fit in place. I ended up using a magnetic retrieval tool to place them. Also on the fuel tank side it was a very close fit. I did do all the work on the ground and breaking the rear spring shackle bolts loose took a 24" bar and a floor jack on the passenger side. On the driver side I had to use a section of pipe on the ratchet. But overall they were installed in about 2.5 hours. Picked up our new us truck camper last weekend and it was easy to secure and little to no movement during travel.
by:
The parts fit as they should and work as designed. The main challenge for installing is in the loosening of the leaf spring bolts. With out an impact wrench or access to a touch and a long breaker bar it would be next to impossible for an average person to install.

The units appeared to be well made and were nicely painted. I installed them on my F150. The tools and hardware supplied were of good quality and installation was straight forward. Two people would have been great, but I was able to install both sides in a little less than an hour. The holes all line up very well. I like these better than the previous units I had on my 2013, as they do not stick out as far - so less noticeable. The extension arms come out at a very nice angle just under the body. I find these units with quality I expected and I think they will be highly functional in attaching my camper.

Well, we called you today to inform you that one of the three packages didn't arrive via UPS. You said it showed delivered so basically we go pound dirt. A package was delivered here that did not belong to us. I literally had to get in my vehicle and track down the UPS truck. Low and behold he still had my 3rd box on his truck. That is obviously not your fault but the final response from you was very disappointing. We spend thousands with etrailer

Couldnt ask for anything better. I am using them on a regular basis. When not in use I remove, clean and store them in my garage. No rust issues and the brackets attached to the truck are just as solid as when I first torqued them to the trucks frame. I definitely recommend them to anyone looking for proper camper tie-downs. PS: Their customer service, as always, I outstanding!
