Where To Install Operating Unit Of Demco Stay-IN-Play in GMC Sierra 1500 and Vacuum Line Location
Updated 03/03/2020 | Published 03/01/2020 >
Question:
I have noticed that Ryan has done two videos on a 1500 GMC Sierra 1500. He did the Roadmaster Disconnect and the charge line kit. I also noted that during those videos the Stay-n-Play duo was installed in the truck as well. Im wondering if Ryan can tell me where the operating unit was located and where the vacuum line was connected on the 2020 GMC Sierra. It would be extremely helpful. Regards

Since we have not yet had a chance to install the Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO part # SM99251 on the 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 it is hard to say where to install the operating unit in the engine compartment. The operating unit does need to be installed away from any extreme heat source and the connections must be easily accessible. The unit can often be installed behind the grill provided it doesn’t restrict air flow to the radiator. Moisture will not harm the unit, but it should not be in the direct path of rainwater or road spray. If you take a look at the attached video, our installer has it mounted in the extra battery tray under the hood.
The vacuum line will be from your brake booster to the engine. There should only be one line. I recommend to take a look at the video at 12 minute mark to see what that looks like.
