The trailer hitch I recommend for a 2020 Mazda CX-9 is the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 76020 because it has a hidden design which means only the receiver tube is shown therefore you get a very sleek look, there is an integrated trailer connector tab which cuts down on your total list of parts, and it has the highest weight capacities available so you know it will be strong and last a lifetime.

I have attached an install photo for you. If you will be towing then you will also need a trailer wiring harness like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 118278 which is plug-n-play, a trailer connector mounting bracket like the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat part # 18144 which attaches to the integrated trailer connector tab above, and a ball mount/hitch ball like the Ball Mount Kit part # 989900.
