Is it Totally Necessary to Connect Ground Wire of Mighty Cord Trailer Connector Adapter
Question:
When using a 4 pin flat to 7 blade round connector to tow a trailer, does the white ground wire have to be screwed to the tow vehicle in order for turn signal and brake lights to work? Ive seen one answer on this website that says yes and another that just says to plug the four pin connectors together. Thanks.

Helpful Expert Reply:
There is a ground wire that is present in just the 4-way section of the # A10-7084VP which will be for just the trailer wiring and an additional ground wire for the other three circuits if ever active. If at all possible I would recommend attaching the white ground wire as well but you should have no problem activating just the lighting without connecting it.
