Question:
Hello - Im trying to decide what color the fabric of my awning should be to help reduce the most of the heat and light that comes into my RV. I do camping in Death Valley and Black Rock Desert so its really bright and hot and very little shade so any relief I can get is a necessity. But which color is the best for this? Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:
A darker awning color like the Black Fade # LC69FR that you referenced will do a good job of blocking out light, but dark colors traditionally attract more heat. Lighter colors like the Sand Fade # LCV000335357 (which is the same size as the awning you mentioned) will do a better job of reflecting the heat, but traditionally lighter colors allow more light to get through.
With that being said, RV awnings are a thicker material so the best option for you would be to go with a lighter color (white would be best) for reducing heat and light. I am linking our selection of RV awnings for you to filter through, but if you can get me some more details on where you're wanting to install the awnings I can help you find the best fits for your application.
