Question:
What is the difference between the BXW0553 and the BXW0550? They appear to have the exact same specifications listed on the website, TW, GTW, rise/. Is the BXW0553 just a later model number. I have a 2018 Ram 1500 with 20 inch tires and the top of hitch receiver is 20inch from ground. I am looking to pull a 2020 Rockwood GeoPro 19FBS travel trailer and want to get the most appropriate WD/TS for it. Thanks

Patrick, the Blue Ox SwayPro part # BXW0550 and the Blue Ox SwayPro part # BXW0553 are the same except the BXW0553 is designed for underslung couplers (less common) and BXW0550 is designed for overslung trailer couplers (more common). You more than likely have an overslung trailer coupler on the 2020 Rockwood GeoPro 19FBS. An underslung trailer coupler is one that attaches to the bottom of the trailer frame and an overslung one is one that attaches to the top of the frame.
Since you have a 2020 Rockwood GeoPro 19FBS I do not believe you have an underslung coupler so you will need the Blue Ox SwayPro part # BXW0550. When choosing a weight distribution system you want to make sure the loaded tongue weight of your trailer falls in the center of the range that the spring bars are rated for. The Blue SwayPro system includes spring bars rated for 350 lbs to 550 lbs. I was able to find the dry weight of your trailer is 3,075 lbs. As long as your fully loaded tongue weight is never going to exceed 550 lbs then the Blue Ox SwayPro is properly rated for your trailer.
The shank that comes with the system has a 2" drop and 8" rise. I would need to know the measurement from the bottom of the coupler to the ground to know how much rise or drop you need in a shank. If you measure the coupler to the ground and find the difference between the 20" truck hitch height and the coupler measurement, that is your rise/drop needed in a shank.
You also need 1" diameter shank ball part # 63845 for a 2" ball or part # 63847 if you need a 2-5/16" ball.
Please let me know if this shank does fit your needs and I can make additional recommendations.
