I would have liked potential other options such as using roadmaster base plates with a roadmaster tow bar or using a blue ox tow bar with blue ox base plates in liue of using the adapters.

The Blue Ox base plate kit part # BX2414 that you mentioned can be used with the Roadmaster Sterling tow bar # RM-576 but you do need to use the correct adapter since the two can't be connected directly. So all you'd need for an adapter is the part # RM-031-5 and you'd be set.

Roadmaster has the part # RM-522205-5 as a confirmed fit for a base plate for your Ram Rebel. It would work directly with your Sterling and would be your best option. If you instead wanted to use a Blue Ox tow bar with the # BX2414 the part # BX7420 is a really great option that would work well for you.
