Question:

How much vertical travel should I allow for. I am going to a more standard tire from ST 26514. I had to take fenders off. I can raise them but they are close to the bunkers on the trailer now.

This is a great question. You generally want to allow 3" clearance between the top of the tire and the fender (or bunk), at minimum, when your trailer is fully loaded. This should give you adequate clearance for potholes and bumps.

In order to get a precise measurement on an underslung trailer (the springs are mounted under the axle), you should measure the distance between the bottom of your frame and the top of your axle. Add two inches to that measurement and you'll have adequate clearance when your trailer is fully loaded.
