Question:
We just purchase 2019 F250 with a 2 1/2 X 2 1/2 inch receiver and getting ready to pull 2020 Grand Design Imagine 2500RL. Gross weight on trailer is under 8000lbs. What size Equalilizer W/4 do you recommend I need, with the right size hitch ball. Without a reducer in the receiver. Thank you

Expert Reply:
Since tongue weight is approximately 10 to 15% of the trailer's fully loaded and ready to tow weight, let's start out with the premise that your Imagine 2500 RL has a tongue weight between 800 and 1100 lbs. In that case, I can highly recommend the Equal-i-zer # EQ37121ET which is specifically designed for trailers with a tongue weight between 800 and 1200 lbs (make sure you include cargo stowed in the truck bed behind the rear axle as tongue weight).
The system includes the 2-5/16 inch trailer ball that requires a 1-7/8 inch thin walled socket like # EQ70-00-4800 for installation but the shank is sold separately. We offer shanks for a 2-1/2 inch receiver, # EQ90-02-4900 for a 10 inch rise/ 6 inch drop, # EQ90-02-4700 for a 7 inch rise/ 3 inch drop or # EQ90-02-4800 for an 8 inch rise or a 4 inch drop. No reducer needed.
I'll link you to a help article that will help you determine the rise or drop you need, if you don't know that already.
