Should Vent Stay Open on Spaceport Adjustable A/C Ceiling Vent

Question:

Hi how in the cat fuzz do you get these vents to stay OPEN???? I HAVE TO SHOVE A PIECE OF PAPER IN THE SLATS FOR THEM TO STAY OPEN!!!! READY TO PULL.THEM ALL OUT BY HAND!!!! GGGRRR I HATE THESE THINGS, WHAT CAN I use to replace them?

First of all, I greatly enjoyed the phrase "cat fuzz" - that was awesome. Sorry to hear about the trouble you are having with the Spaceport Adjustable A/C Ceiling Vent# A10-3357VP although there isn't a method that is used for the slats to stay open, because they should simply do so on their own, as you can see at about the 1:30 mark of the linked video review of this product.

It sounds like yours is not functioning properly, so you can replace it with another. If you don't want one with the slats, there are other options, but not with the exact same mounting dimensions, so you will need to take that into consideration. Similar options that have a 4 inch inner diameter are the Valterra Louvered Air Port for Roof A/C - 4" - White # A10-3355VP and Valterra Air Port for Roof A/C - 4" - White # A10-3354VP.
