This vent makes it easy to add or improve ventilation anywhere you need fresh air movement. The butterfly-style opening lets you control the flow in or out, helping reduce heat and stale air in enclosed spaces. It measures 7-1/4" edge to edge for compact coverage that still moves plenty of air when open.
Made from polished aluminum, this vent resists rust and holds up well in outdoor conditions. The metal construction also gives it a clean, finished look that stays attractive over time while handling sun, weather, and vibration without cracking or fading.
Installing this vent is straightforward. Just cut a 5-7/8" to 6" diameter hole and secure it with the four mounting holes spaced 4-9/16" on center. The vent is 1/4" thick overall, giving it a solid feel once mounted. A set of 8 x 3/4" slotted round head wood screws can work well for most installs.
The vent’s design keeps it in place whether open or closed so it won’t flap or shift while driving. The smooth manual knob gives you easy control, and the built-in friction keeps the position steady against vibration while still being easy to adjust by hand.

So let's take a closer look at it and make sure that this is going to be the right piece for you. It does have that butterfly style opening to let in fresh air and stale air out. This measures about 7 1/4 inch in diameter. The opening for that butterfly vent is about 3 1/2 inches at that widest point and across it's about 5 5/8. It's about 1/4 of an inch thick.
The distance between the mounting holes center to center is about 6 1/2 inches. It does not come with any mounting hardware so that is something that you will have to pick up on your own. There is a screen that can go with this that's also available here at etrailer.com. It should be listed as a related part on the product page, so you can pick that up to go with it. That's pretty much going to do it for our look at the butterfly vent.

This is a great heavy duty product at a great price. I used it on a diesel engine air cleaner box as an adjustable inlet.
I purchased 2 for a horse trailer. I cut out only the butterfly to make it stronger and after 1 year, around 1000 miles, everything is still perfect. I do recommend them.

As of 3/11 the UPS has lost my package. They left a pkg at my house but it was not from etrailer, but they marked yours as delivered. Now they can't seem to find my butterfly vents! etrailer did a great job on their end as usual.

It was exactly what my husband was looking for. We have an enclosed trailer but dust comes in the vents when going down our gravel road. We placed these over the top of the vents on the inside of the trailer. We shut them to keep the dust out!

I searched for the best price I could find on butterfly vents and it was here at etrailer.com. They processed my order quickly, shipped fast, and the product itself was high quality. I really like that there is enough friction when opening or closing the vent that I don't think they will open or close on their own when I'm driving down the road.
Over the past several months I have been reconditioning an older cattle trailer. I changed all the lights and replaced the electric brakes. All the repair items were purchased from etrailer. All the items were received in a timely fashion and found to be exactly as described on their web site. I now have a functional, road worthy trailer. Using etrailer made this job a lot easier.

Good products but no instructions
Allows the right amount of air flow for the beagles.
These butterfly vents were replacements on a 1994 horse trailer that we are refurbishing. The old ones were solid rust and couldn't be saved. Though today's vents aren't made as large as the old ones, we can make them work and are good quality for this job without a huge investment. We're waiting to install until after we repaint the outside of the trailer so no photos at this time. Fast shipping was also a plus. Thanks etrailer!!

The vents were great quality for what we needed to finish out the trailer for resale. Though I cant attest to how theyre holding up since we sold the trailer, I assure you we wouldnt have added something that we werent positive would hold up for years.
