How Much Weight Can Be Stored On Top Of An ARE Camper Shell with Thule Roof Rack

Question:
I have a Toyota Tundra with a camper top. I have a Thule cross bar setup that is attached through the integral rails in my AIRE camper top. I’m sure this application is used but I was wondering if there is any info regarding weight capacity on this topper. Or if it’s not common for people to mount this on the topper. I was thinking that given it’s a big platform that the weight would be more distributed. Any thoughts? Thanks

The Thule Track Mount Roof Racks are all going to be limited to 165 lbs therefore this will give you a good idea of how much weight can be carried. However, the camper top manufacturer may have a lower weight capacity figure so if that is the case then this will be your new weight capacity.
If you are looking to use a Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform Rack, you need to be careful of which option you choose as there are only two available that attach to standard crossbars. The Rhino-Rack Universal Pioneer Platform Rack part # RR42115BF which measures 58" long x 47" wide or the Rhino-Rack Universal Pioneer Platform Rack part # RR42114BF which measures 48" long x 38" wide are the only two options for this.
