Question:

I have a 2015 GMC 2500HD with a 6.5” Bed, and would like to know if there is a Hard tonneau cover that is confirmed to fit with a Thule TracRac Sliding Ladder Rack for this truck? Ive also heard that some folks flip around the TracRac BaseRails so that the inner lip used to hold up a tool box, instead faces toward the outside of the bed to give additional clearance on the inside of the bad allowing to use a hard sided folding tonneau cover, curious about your thoughts on this. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

From your picture, it looks like this is possible and might not affect the use of a folding hard tonneau cover like the BAK Flip MX4 # BAK448333 or the BAK Flip F1 # BAK72122 , but the main issue may not be the rail as much as it is the slanted profile of the ladder rack load bars and them interfering with the folding of the tonneau. You may be able to slide the ladder rack around and make it work, but I'm not sure that it really provides a convenient working situation. I'll also add that I'm not convinced that flipping the rails around will allow you to use a folding tonneau without contact.

With that being said, we can confirm that a sliding ladder rack like the Thule TracRac SR # TH43002XT-781 can be used unhindered on your 2015 GMC 2500HD with the BAK Revolver X2 Hard Tonneau Cover # BAK39121, so I would strongly recommend going with this option. This cover is made from a heavy duty aluminum and vinyl and provides you with a roll-up solution to keep your truck bed valuables secure. This tonneau cover mounts inside the frame rails so as not to interfere with the installation and functioning of your Thule TracRac SR.

I have a 2017 GMC Sierra Crew Cab 1500 with short bed and Bakflip MX 4. Will this work on that application?

The TracRac SR # TH43002XT-781 if you have the 6-1/2 foot bed or part # TH43002XT-782 if you have the 5-1/2 foot bed is physically compatible with the BAKFlip MX4 cover, but it may be a bit of a pain to use together. This is because the uprights on the TracRac lean in towards the middle of the truck, which means you'll have to kind of slide them up and back as you fold the tonneau up because otherwise the panels will knock into them. A better option is actually the Adarac Pro Series Rack - part # A24FR if you have the 6-1/2 foot bed or part # A4000963 if you have the 5-1/2 foot bed. It's perfectly compatible with the TracRac and its' uprights are vertical so you don't have to worry about any interference when folding up the cover.
