Hey. I have a factory harness on my van, but it is terminated with a flat 7 connector. looks like a flat 4 pin, but has 7 holes.

The 2014 Chevrolet Express Van if equipped with the factory tow package would have come with a US-Car connector which you can see in the attached video at about the 1:30 mark. In order to use this US-Car connector you will need an adapter to go from this to the end of the bumper, the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness part # 41155 for a 4-way or the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket part # HM40975 for a 7-way.
The 2014 Chevrolet Express Van if not equipped with the factory tow package would not have come with any connectors to plug an adapter into therefore you would need to obtain the signals from behind the tail lights with the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Vehicle Wiring Harness part # 31345.
I am not sure which connector you are describing but most likely it is not for the trailer wiring.
