Can the Waste Valve Extension Rods Be Trimmed

Question:

My Valterra extension rod snapped off right at the guide on the frame. I bought a new threaded extension rod, but want to know if I can cut off the existing rod a few inches and still thread the new one on,, so it doesnt interfere with the guide

I do have a wide variety of extension rod lengths that you could choose from but I do not believe these are threaded all the way down so if you were to cut a few inches off of one you would not be able to reattach it. The best option for you would be to just obtain the correct length extension rod for your needs. I have attached a list of options below.
