Can the Waste Valve Extension Rods Be Trimmed

My Valterra extension rod snapped off right at the guide on the frame. I bought a new threaded extension rod, but want to know if I can cut off the existing rod a few inches and still thread the new one on,, so it doesnt interfere with the guide

I do have a wide variety of extension rod lengths that you could choose from but I do not believe these are threaded all the way down so if you were to cut a few inches off of one you would not be able to reattach it. The best option for you would be to just obtain the correct length extension rod for your needs. I have attached a list of options below.

Sounds like instead you would want the part #T1003VP which is a similar valve as the #T1003PBC except it comes with the T handle. The part is ABS plastic, so you could use an ABS sealant or glue. The glue is not included though. Part number #A05-0303…
