Replacement Valterra Waste Valve 601607-11 For Airstream Trailer

Question:

I have a 2017 Airstream Flying Cloud. The black tank dump vale doesn’t close completely and I’d like to replace it. The parts manual says the assembly is a 601607-11. Will this part allow me to just unbolt assembly, remove the valve and replace with new valve and seals? There is also a handle extension that I presume I can transfer to new valve. I will have to cut sheet metal underneath to gain access so want to make sure this part will work without problems before I start. Thank you Ps. Not that it matters as far as what I plan to do but parts manual says 601607-11 is a spigot x spigot and your catalog entry says hub x spigot. I suppose a mis print 1. 601607-11 Valve assembly, 3inch spigot x 3inch spigot

The Valterra Bladex Waste Valve Body for RV Black Water Tank part # T1003VP will replace the valve but the part that you have now has a 3" spigot hub on both sides. This valve would require some modifying to fit into the same place as your old valve because you would have a gap.

Therefore I recommend Valterra Bladex Waste Valve for RV Black Water Tank part # T40 which is a 3" hub to 3" hub spigot like you need. That is the reason the Valterra Bladex Valve part # T1003VP is listed differently. This will replace your current valve without issue and you will be able to reuse the handle extension.
