Replacement Frame Cradles to Fit Rhode Gear Shuttle Bike Rack

Question:

Hi. A friend gave me an older Rhode Gear Shuttle bike carrier dont know which model if there are more than one. It doesnt have any cradles on it and I was wondering if it never did or if theyre missing. Did this bike carrier come without cradles at one time? Can I add the replacement cradle RG8890084? The diameter of the arm is about 1. How long does the arm have to be to fit 2 sets of cradles and hold 2 bikes? I can get 2 bikes on without cradles but need to be careful that pedals arent hitting chains, etc. If I order 1 cradle , is that for 1 set of cradles or just one cradle? Also, planning to buy a newer Toyota Camry maybe a hybrid, maybe 2013-2018 and wondering if this rack would fit? Right now I have a 1999 Camry. Many thanks!

Since your Rhode Gear Shuttle bike rack has 1 inch diameter rack arms the Replacement Cradle for Rhode Gear Super Shuttle Racks # RG8890084 that you referenced will fit it. The Shuttles all were made to fit at least 2 bikes so yours allowing you to tightly fit two bikes is normal. They like to make the arms as short as possible so that the bikes aren't hanging too far off the vehicle which would cause stress from added leverage.

These are all sold individually so you'd need a quantity of 4 to carry 2 bikes.

While we don't have fit info for Rhode Gear since they are no longer around there's no reason this rack wouldn't also fit the Camry you are considering.
