When Changing Rise/Drop Ball Mount Does Friction Sway Control Ball Height Need to Change
Published 08/22/2019 >
Question:
Hi My sway control bar has a 1 1/2 inch ball. It is 3 1/2 in total length. I am adding a hitch with a 1 inch rise and wider if I need to also put a 1 inch rise in the sway control ball? Thankd

It wouldn't ever be necessary to put a rise into the ball of a sway control setup. So what that means Barry is that since the ball always mounts to the side of the ball mount platform it basically will always be at the correct height.
I attached a picture with a pretty extreme example that shows a ball mount with a lot of drop used with friction sway control and you can see that the sway control is leveled properly.
