How Much Can the Roof Hold On a Coleman Sea Pine Pop-Up Camper for Use with Roof Rack
Updated 07/31/2019 | Published 07/30/2019 >
Question:
I have a 1997 Coleman Sea Pine. I installed a Swagman rood rack crossbar system. I only want to haul a cargo carrier with blankets and such. Nothing heavy. My concern is that the roof is mainly foam. Will this be an issue? I obviously dont want it ripping off. I havent driven it yet as I just finished and started looking for some forums on the topic. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

I took a look in the manual for the Swagman Roamer LT Roof Rack part # S80510 which appears to be what you are using and on page 1 (step 1) it states that before installation you will need to contact the trailer manufacturer to ensure the trailer is structurally strong enough to support 150 lbs on the roof.
Unfortunately, I would not be able to inform you of the roof weigh capacity for your pop-up camper which is why you will need to reach out to the manufacturer. If it turns out that the roof cannot support this rack and cargo box your best option would be to place the cargo box on the roof of your vehcile.
