Features to know about

Upgrade Old or Rusted Brakes: Stainless Steel Disc Kit for 3,500-lb Axles

If your drum brakes are dragging or your rotors are corroded, this DeeMaxx stainless steel kit is a solid upgrade. It converts your idler axle into a braking axle with two slip-on rotors, calipers, and brackets rated for 3,500 lbs. The rotors fit over your existing idler hubs and use your current wheel bolts, so there’s no need to replace the whole hub-and-rotor assembly. Ceramic brake pads and a stainless steel piston deliver fast, responsive braking that feels smooth and controlled.

Stay Protected in Salt and Snow: Fully Stainless Construction Resists Corrosion

Saltwater launches and winter roads can destroy regular brake hardware fast. These brakes use stainless steel rotors, calipers, and brackets that are rustproof and built for marine-grade conditions. Drainage holes in the hat section let water escape quickly to reduce internal corrosion. Whether you’re towing near the ocean or through road salt and slush, this design keeps your braking system clean and reliable year after year.

Consistent Performance Under Load: Vented Rotors Disperse Heat Faster

Brakes that retain heat lose stopping power over time. DeeMaxx vented rotors move air through the core to shed heat quickly and prevent premature pad wear. The added drainage holes provide even more ventilation than standard vented designs, keeping the brakes cooler for consistent performance on long grades or heavy hauls.

Built for Easy Maintenance: Slip-On Rotors and Laser-Etched Instructions

You don’t need to replace the whole assembly to service these brakes. The slip-on rotors mount over your existing hubs and are easy to remove for pad changes. Laser-etched instructions on each caliper show exactly how to bleed the system when it’s time for maintenance. With fewer parts than drums—no springs or cables to fuss with—you’ll save time and keep everything running smoothly.

Durable Design with Long Warranty Coverage

This kit includes all assemblies needed to upgrade one axle—two slip-on rotors, calipers, and brackets (mounting hardware not included)—and works with a brake flange configuration of 4 bolt, 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, 10-7/8" rotor diameter, 2-1/4" piston diameter, and 1/2" wheel bolts. Built from high-quality automotive-grade materials, it carries a 7-year warranty for dependable braking season after season.

Wow, the calipers, rotors and brackets are awesome.
Great price!

by:

I'm sure the quality of these is good but I'm annoyed that there is no mounting hardware included. The enclosed instructions make multiple references to the "provided hardware" but there is none. So I spent $[XX] each on two brake kits and now I have to drive to town for hardware

by:

Top Quality! Easy install and they work great! 7yr warranty, I am pleased....

  • Recommended Hubs and Rotors for an EZ Loader Trailer
Hey Dave, thanks for hanging out! I did some research and what you'll need is the Kodiak Disc Brake Kit # K2HR35DKG. This kit includes new Kodiak 225 calipers, an integrated hub and rotor, and has a 5 on 4 1/2 bolt pattern. These hubs aren't oil bath hubs, but can be made oil bath if you use the Kodiak XL ProLube Kit for 3500-lb Axles # XLPROLUBE1980KIT. If you need anything else, please feel free to drop a comment and let me know!

  • Does DeeMax Disc Brake Kit part # DE72FR Come with Mounting Brackets
Hey Steven, I am not totally sure what your question is but the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit part # DE72FR that you referenced comes with mounting brackets that attach it to the mounting flange that is on your axle's spindle currently using hardware that you most likely already have that is holding on current brake assemblies.

  • Are Longer Wheel Studs Needed When Installing DeeMaxx Slip On Disc Kit
Hey Steven, you generally do not need to replace the wheel studs of your hubs when installing slip on disc kits like the DeeMax part # DE72FR. The rotors are not overly thick and normally trailer hub wheel studs are longer than needed so it's not an issue.

  • Actuator for DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit
Hello again Troy; I'm assuming you want these for your Cruiser Radiance Touring 26VSB which means you're looking for an electric over hydraulic brake actuator. There isn't a specific brake actuator for the # DE72FR so I would get the Hydrastar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator for Disc Brakes # HBA16. Hydrastar makes a high performing, reliable actuator that is great for any application. You will also want the Hydrastar Hydraulic Brake Line Kit # HS496-252 if you're converting from electric...

The DeeMaxx Trailer Idler Hub # DE36VR is designed to fit with DeeMaxx 10" Rotor with Maxx Coating # DE47VR or Stainless # DE67VR. Typically you will get either the Maxx Coating Brake Kit # DE42FR or Stainless Brake Kit # DE72FR which includes the rotors, calipers and mounting brackets for one axle. • Recommended Disc Brakes And Hubs For a 3,500LB Trailer Axle Used on Boat Trailer Used in Salt Water
I recommend upgrading to a fully stainless steel hub and brake set. First you will need the Kodiak Trailer Hub # KH84545S. This will need Bearings # L68149 & # L44649 and a Grease Seal # 58846 for each of your hubs. You will then be able to add the DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit # DE72FR which has stainless steel rotors, calipers, mounting brackets and even the brake pads have stainless steel backing plates.
