Will Thule Roof Rack Still Work without Key

Question:

Will the roof rack still work with out the key? The key just prevents it from being stolen right? Dosnt affect how product works. Please let me know as soon as possible.

If your Thule Roof Rack is locked and you don't have the key you won't be able to remove them from the vehicle or take off the end caps but they will still certainly work to support the weight of anything you might have mounted to them (cargo box, bike rack, etc).

I do still recommend locating a replacement key as soon as possible though. If you have an older-style Thule rack there should be a number stamped right onto the lock cores themselves that indicate the appropriate key number. If you can tell me this number I will be happy to recommend the correct replacement.

Otherwise if you have a current-style system and the numbers aren't printed (and you don't have it written down anywhere) then you will need to replace the lock cores themselves with a new set that includes keys # TH450400. If they are unlocked you can use the included Change Key to remove the existing units but if not they will need to be drilled out or you can see if a local locksmith can remove them.

Chris need new keys for older Thule roof bars. The number on the locks is N150. Where can I get a replacement? Thanks.

@Dick Unfortunately, the N150 key isn't one we have available anymore. There's a small chance you might be able to reach out to Thule directly to see if they have one still laying around the warehouse - that would be where I would start.
