Does Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Receive Constant Power
Updated 07/17/2019 | Published 07/15/2019 >
Question:
Does this unit have a constant current draw? Finished wiring it up along with the new larger breakaway kit and when I connected the breakaway battery the Dexter unit made an audible click like an internal relay was energizing. This would indicate a current draw even when not in use? Unit does operate correctly when breakaway is activated or using to vehicles on board controller.

Yes, when hooked up to the tow vehicle your Dexter DX Series Electric Over Hydarulic Brake Actuator # K71-651 will be getting 12 volts of constant power from the black power wire. This is completely normal and would be the case with any brand/model EoH actuator.
