Weight Distribution System that Allows For Bracket Placement 35 Inches Behind Hitch Ball

Hi, I have a 2007 Rockwood HighwallHW256 pop up with a 450 lb tongue weight, and 3000lb tow weight. I would like to purchase either the C17002 or C17052 weight distribution hitch but I want to make sure it will fit before I do. The tongue bars are 2inch wide by a bit less that 4inch high. Its 35 inches from the center of the hitch ball to the point behind the propane mounting rack. I cant mount the chain lift brackets any closer. Are the round bars long enough if the lift brackets are mounted 35 inches back from the center of the hitch ball?

The Curt Weight Distribution systems part # C17052 and C17002 brackets fit frames that are 2-3/4" wide so you will not have an issue with the brackets fitting your frame. Curt does not specify bracket placement for MV weight distribution systems however, the bars measure 30-5/8" long. The two Curt systems you mention also have a tongue weight range of 800 lbs-1,000 lbs which is very overrated for your setup with a 450 lb tongue weight. An overrated weight distribution system can cause a harsh and stiffer ride.
I recommend to use Curt MV weight distribution system part # C17050 with the Chain Hangers for Curt weight distribution systems part # C17005 that attach to the side of the trailer frame and allow you to by pass any obstructions that won't allow you to use the traditional style lift brackets. The Curt C17050 system is rated between 500 lbs-600 lbs which is much closer to your loaded tongue weight. This system does not include sway control so you need to add a sway control bar part # 17200 if you ever have issues with sway. The system does not come with a ball so you need Curt ball part # 40038 for a 2" ball or part # C40030 for a 2-5/16" ball.
