Question:
Good day, I am sure this question has been asked a million and 1 times, but here it goes again since I cant seem to get a straight answer. After reviewing the 2006 Ford RV and Trailer Towing Guide, my gooseneck capacity for the truck I want, below, came out to be 14,200. Is this accurate? And does this include the weight of the trailer? What is the maximum weight I can tow on a gooseneck trailer with the below vehicle? 2006 Ford Super Duty F-350, XLT Crew Cab 156inch DRW 4WD, Eng 6.8L V-10 Gas, 4.1 Axle Thank you for the help, in advance.

Based on the online towing guide I looked up, you are 100 percent on the money that the 2006 Ford F-350 with your specs - Crew Cab, DRW, 4WD, 4.10 Axle Ratio and 6.8L V10, has a 14,200 lb capacity so long as it has an automatic transmission; the same truck with a manual transmission has a 13,100 lb capacity. These capacities do not include the weight of the trailer.
The best gooseneck trailer hitch for an '06 F-350 is the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1108 because it has a square base for its hitch ball which ensures optimal strength and durability.
The hitch ball of the B&W gooseneck hitch has a square shank that fits directly in the base and is secured with a steel locking pin. This square base, along with the powder-coated steel construction of the hitch, is why it is considered by many to be the best gooseneck hitch available. The Turnoverball has been widely praised by our customers who have it, with more than 700 reviews at the time of this writing giving it a nearly unanimous 5-star rating.
The Turnoverball gooseneck # BWGNRK1108 is also relatively simple to install, as you can see by the linked instructions and does not require any drilling into the truck's frame to install. This hitch even comes safety chains built in which are spring-loaded; it also has a lifetime warranty and is made in the USA.
I have added a link to a video install of this hitch on an F-350 for you to check out.
Additionally, if you need wiring for your truck bed to power the lights and brakes of your gooseneck trailer I recommend the Pollak 5th Wheel / Gooseneck T-Connector with 7-Pole # PK11893-11932.
