B&W does have Companion 5th wheel hitches that are compatible with the OEM puck system that comes from the factory on your 2016 GMC Sierra 3500. For a short bed we recommend using the slider version # BWRVK3770 for cab clearance when making tight turns. If you have a long bed then we have the Companion available in both a 20K # BWRVK3700 and a 25K # BWRVK3705 version.

If you currently have a B&W Companion that installs in a B&W gooseneck hitch then you will simply need to replace the base with either the sliding base # BWRVB3770 or the stationary base # BWRVB3700 for 20K or # BWRVB3705 for 25K.

The only way that you would need to use a completely different B&W 5th wheel hitch is if you currently have a B&W Patriot 5th wheel hitch. The head unit mounts slightly different so you can't interchange the Patriot head unit and the Companion head unit.
