Question:

Current Hub is Dexter 8-91A, w/ grease seal inner diameter 1.25., outer diameter 1.9. Bearings are L44649. Wondering if the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Galvanized Item # AKIHUB-440-2-G-2K would be the best choice for this old small boat trailer vs Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - L44649 Bearings Item # 8-91-05UC1. Also seeking recommendation for the Bearing Buddy model or similar product to consider for purchase with the hubs. Thanks

Since these idler hubs will be used for a boat trailer I highly recommend going with the etrailer.com Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-G-2K over the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # 8-91-05UC1 because the eatrialer.com option has a galvanized finish that will protect it better than the powder coat finish on the Dexter option.

Please note that the seals which come with these have an inner diameter of 1.500" so you will need to use part # 34823 for a grease seal instead as it has the smaller 1.249" inner diameter that you are needing. This seal is also available in a quantity of 2 with part # RG06-010.

Then for Bearing Buddys that fit they need to be compatible with a 1.98" hub bore. We have these available both in Chrome # BB1980A and Stainless Steel # BB1980A-SS.
