Question:
I have a 2016 Toyota tundra that has a factory intergraded controller in it. I had issues with it braking trailer. I took to dealer they couldnt find any issues but when braking with 12 volt light connected to braking wire at trailer the light goes on for a 2 seconds then goes half a lite. But when you use the manual slide knobs it shows that its working just fine. So, I bought Tekonsha 90160 with 3031-P wiring harness. I unconnected the factory controller and plugged in the new controller. The truck came up with an trailer brake error on display screen, but brake controller seems to work without any issues. Is there a way to get rid of the error? Also when brake pedal is pressed the light goes Brite then dim then Brite again is this normal for you brake controller?

You can correct the error message on your Tundra dash caused by installation of your aftermarket Prius IQ brake controller # TK90160 by disconnecting the battery + cable for about 5 minutes. Once you reconnect it the error could should be cleared from your dash display.
