How to Remove Tow Plug Cap to Install 4-Way Harness on 2018 Honda Ridgeline Sport

Question:
Receiver wiring 2018 Ridgeline Sport Edition Hi I spent an hour in the Tractor Supply parking lot trying to pull the top off of this module, thinking that the four-pin blade of the trailer lighting somehow plugged directly into it. After calling the dealer, I learned that the Sport Edition is sold without the receiver kit - a separate purchase. I found a kit on your website but looking at the pictures I don’t see how the plug would go into what is supposed to be the ‘female end’ of this under-the-bumper module. Q: does this thing I’m looking at have a top that comes off to accept the plug-in, and if so, how do I get it off? As you might be able to see from the photo, it is getting pretty chewed up from all of the attempts to open it. Any recommendations on whether to go with a part from your site, or just have Honda install their over-priced unit? Thanks

Thank you for the photo, it was helpful. From that it simply looks like you need to remove the locking tab of the tow plug on your 2018 Honda Ridgeline. The fastener at the top needs to be removed (what the arrow is pointing at) by sliding it rearwards. It has locking tabs as well so press down on those and that should remove the protective cap on the tow plug and you can complete your installation of the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # 118778.
Once you do that you can plug in the connector and route the 4-way harness.
I have added a link to the instruction manual for you to check out which shows the entire installation of 4-way # 118778 for your Ridgeline.
