Since your 2017 Ford F-250 has a 3" trailer hitch receiver you will need an adapter to use the Curt Pintle Hook and 2-5/16" Hitch Ball # C45908 because it has a shank made to fit a 2-1/2" hitch receiver.
For your application I recommend the B&W Reducer Sleeve # BWRHXA2183 as it has a 5/8" diameter hole for the hitch pin which matches what comes with the Curt pintle hook. This will reduce the 3" inner dimensions of your receiver to the 2-1/2" that you need. The hitch pin and clip that comes with the Curt pintle hook has 3-3/16" of usable space. Since this was designed for a 2-1/2" receiver you will want to verify that 3-3/16" is enough space. If it isn't then you will need to use something longer like the Curt # C21506 which has 4-13/16" of usable space.
