Question:
Compatibility with Thule 938 rack-n-loc classic. Just bought an older but new Thule 938 rack-n- loc classic and the box said “compatible with 2” receivers.” Opened up the box and it’s a 1-1/4 in receiver. Been looking for a compatible sleeve to fit on the rack and into my 2” receiver but it’s hasnt been that easy to find one. Do you know if this one will work or could you point me in the right direction. Thanks

There is going to be a way to use what I will call a "vintage" Thule 938 Rak-N-Loc Classic bike rack, though the Replacement 2" Hitch Adapter # 853-7489 you referenced is not a confirmed replacement part when I checked with Thule. What you can do to find out is use the accompanying diagram and measure your shank to see if you will be able to line up the hitch pin holes.
The other option for you to use this rack is with the Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" # HT02 which is a sleeve that will fit directly in your 2" trailer hitch receiver and reduce it to work with 1-1/4" accessories like your vintage Thule rack.
I have added links to video reviews of both parts for you to check out.
