The Thule Goalpost TH997 is not a bike rack but rather a hitch mounted load bar/extender. If you can send me a picture of your bike rack then I would be able to help you identify which model you have. However, I believe what you are referring to is the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR

If this is the case then the adapter you would have got from Thule is part # 853-7489. For this adapter, you will need part # 853-5787-02 to attach it to the singer on your bike rack and part # THSTL2 to attach that to the trailer hitch receiver. This part is known as a hitch pin and will work on most Thule bike racks.

I have attached a photo to better explain this for you as well.

The hitch pin that comes with the Thule Hitching Post Pro part # TH934XTR is the same bolt included with the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device part # THSTL2 which is offered without the lock as Replacement Threaded Pin part # 853-5917.
