Can Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors Be Used On a 5th Wheel Trailer

Updated 03/21/2019 | Published 03/20/2019

Question:

I have used these on many boat trailers, including triple axle trailers and boats weighing close to 20,000 pounds. I am wondering if I could use these on my 35foot 5th wheel trailer to avoid annual tearing down and repacking. If we can why dont the manufacturers put these on originally?

Yes, you can use a set of Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors on your 5th wheel trailer for easy maintenance. However, there are many different sizes so in order to find the correct one for your trailer you will need to obtain a digital caliper and measure the opening of the hub bore on your trailer hub. For example, the Bearing Buddy Bearing Protectors - Model 1810 part # BB1810 fit a hub bore opening of 1.810". If you have a different hub bore opening just let me know what that is and I will make sure you get the correct set.

Unfortunately, I don't have any information as to why trailer manufacturers do not install them on the assembly line though some might.
