Question:

Do I install this on the negative side of the battery or the positive side. I am concerned about the connection of the motorhome if I disconnect the negative side. The Silverado will be flat towed

I do have an option for you but the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect with Switch part # RM-766 cannot be used on vehicles with a diesel engine because these vehicles require a battery with very high cold cranking amps (CCAs) which would fry the solenoid on the battery disconnect. Instead, you will want to use something like the Deka Lead Quick-Disconnect Battery Terminal part # DW05312 which allows you to disconnect the battery leads though the use of the hand knob so no tools are required.

Generally speaking, the owner's manual for the vehicle will state if the negative or positive terminal on the battery must be disconnected while in tow. However, the owner's manual for a 2013 Chevy Silverado 3500 does not require that either the negative or positive terminals on the battery be disconnected therefore it will be up to you. I recommend the negative terminal but if this cannot be done for some reason then the positive terminal would work as well. Please note that if you are worried about battery drain while in tow then a better option for you is the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25 which should be attached to the starter battery.
