Is Trimming Required for the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch on a Volkswagen Golf GTI

Question:

Im aware that on the non-stealth version of this hitch meant for 2015-2017 vehicles, a small amount of the lower bumper needed to be trimmed. Is there any trimming required for the stealth version that fits 2018 models? Thanks

In regards to the EcoHitch Stealth Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 306-X7375 which is a fit for GTI models of the 2018 - 2019 Volkswagen Golf, there is no cutting or trimming of the bumper fascia required for installation. However, on the particular vehicle that we installed this hitch on we did run into a very minor issue with the receiver tube catching on a piece of the trim panel which was fixed by taking a utility knife and shaving away a very small amount of material from the panel but this may not be an issue for you.

If you take a look a look at the attached install video you will see the entire process as well as the portion of the panel that needed minor alterations. I have attached a photo of what the hitch will look like installed with the receiver tube inserted for you as well.
