Question:
Is it possible to use 2000lb leaf springs on a 3500lb axle. I have a 28’ CrossRoads Zinger 28BH and 1750lb spring bent at eyes

Yes, you could use leaf springs for a 4,000 lb axle, like part # e57SR (rated for 2,000 lbs each), with a 3,500 lb axle but it will make your ride a bit more stiff. The only times that a leaf spring would become damaged is if it is overloaded or has a defect from the manufacturer.
Since overloading a trailer is actually a pretty common occurrence I recommend checking to make sure that you are within the weight capacity of your trailer. It is also important to note that even if you upgrade the leaf springs on your trailer to ones that have a higher capacity your weight rating does not increase as you are limited to your least rated component.
