Question:

I am trying to replace my spring equalizers. The current equalizer is 5 5/8 center to center across the bottom and 1 3/4 c to c from the top down. Springs measure 58 5/8 from C to C front to back on the hangers. Will a morryde cre3000 33 work? it not do you have a recommendation? also looking to change to meet bolts at the same time

Hi Don,

Based off the measurements of your current equalizer being 5 5/8" center to center, I wouldn't recommend using the MORryde CRE3000 because it's over an inch longer than your current equalizer. Having an equalizer that's longer than the original will change the angle of the shackles and affect how the suspension rides. Instead, I suggest using the Dexter E-Z Flex Equalizer Kit for Tandem Axles part # K71-654-00. It's designed to be an exact replacement for most standard equalizers so it can replace equalizers ranging from 5 1/4" to 6 1/4" long center-to-center and is 2" tall, which makes it a perfect size replacement for your current equalizer. It will work with axles rated up to 6,000lbs and comes with bronze bushings already installed. The rubber cores absorb shock before it reaches the frame and reduce stress on the suspension to help create a quieter, smoother ride.

If you're also looking to replace your wet bolts and shackles, the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit part # MR46ZR includes all the necessary wet bolts, shackle straps, bushings, and lock nuts to completely replace your trailer's suspension with a heavy-duty upgrade. You'll want to measure your shackle straps to ensure these are the correct length, but with the size of equalizer you have the 2 1/4" long shackles are usually the correct length for tandem axles with double-eye leaf springs.

Greetings Don and Claire, I recently upgraded the suspension on my 2014 enclosed 19' Covered Wagon with 3500 lb Lippert axles using the Dexter E-Z Ride Equalizer and the the MORryde wet bolt kit. Using the etrailer installation video as resource my install was straight forward. I actually performed the work in my driveway using a couple of jacks to elevate the frame and wood blocks/stands. The wet bolt kit was a definite improvement over the stock replacing the much thinner shackles and nylon bushings with thicker shackles and brass bushings that can be lubricated on a scheduled maintenance routine. I was surprised that the stock nylon bushings were already showing signs of excessive wear after only a year or so of use. The only issue I had was that one of the spring mounts required an oversized bushing that etrailer provided. The Dexter E-Z Ride equalizer has performed as advertised and glad I upgraded. The Easy Flex equalizer are the best on the marquet, Why ? Because of the way they are build , 2 haft parts mount on a single bushing and a cushion that act as absorber, So the monting bolt on the braket can be torque at 50 ft pound or higher the result is a better alignment and the leaf spring stay in line and reduce the risk of broken spring It can be tricky when you order those 1- you nead the wheel base Center center between axles 2- Lenght of your spring 3- the rate of the axel ex: 6k or 7k That will tel you witch lenght of equalizer you will nead i find out that 6k equilizer can fit from 6k to 8k My setup is 33 inch WB on a 7K axel with 8K leaf spring and it work perfectly By the complete kit with all bolt and plate for the leaf spring unless you already equip with as oem
