Distance Between Hitch Pin Holes on Brophy Hitch Reducer and Extender HR26
Updated 03/05/2019 | Published 03/04/2019 >
Question:
I am interested in knowing on the Brophy HR 26 hitch reducer and extender what the distance, center to center, is between the two holes? I need both an extension and reducer but need some length to clear an obstacle above the connection to the 2inch part. Sincerely.

Expert Reply:
On the Brophy Hitch Adapter # HR26 the distance between the two hitch pin holes is 7-inches, from hole center to hole center. Overall length end to end is 12-inches.
Please note that using this extension will reduce your hitch's weight capacity by one third. This reduction in capacity is a result of the actual hitch load being moved further away from the receiver tube, which causes it to exert more leverage on the hitch.
