Question:
Other than cleaning and lubrication, what else must be done to properly maintain an RM-522 tow bar? I ask because my unit 2 years old is now loose in terms of the arms staying in the upposition. Nothing is rattling but I used to be able to put the arms in just about any position, when unconnected to a tow vehicle, and they would stay in that position. Now the arms will always go down to one side or the other via gravity.

On page 9 of the install instructions for the Roadmaster Falcon # RM-522 that are attached to this page you'll see the care and cleaning section. Basically it just details how to clean and lubricate the tow bar using their recommended cleaner part # RM-9932. Clearances will loosen over time though so it's not totally shocking that yours is now easier to move around. Have you been keeping it clean and lubricated? Have you been also using the # RM-9932? The recommended grease for the tow bar is a spray lithium grease.
