And the one kit it mentions is expecive as the original kit entered. I am jist unsure all the parts i need. My goal is to use the vehicle turn signals and reak lights, and that when not being towed that i will have my vehicle lights function normal, hope that makes sen sense. I appreciate your help. Original kit told to order Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit Item # RM-15267 for my towed car Then it states may need some toher parts, states need part Vehicle to Vehicle Tail Light Converter - 118158 And this Roadmaster Hy-Power Diodes Qty 2 - RM-792 And this Roadmaster Brake-Lite Relay Kit for Towed Vehicles - RM-88400 Are all these necessary, seems like some kits contain the same parts.

Based on what you are asking about it appears you are looking to flat tow your 2012 Ford Edge. Specifically it looks like you have vehicle wiring questions. My favorite option for you is the Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267 because it allows you to use the factory wiring of your vehicle while protecting it. It comes with the coiled connection cable and the 6-way for the front of your Edge. This will give you a clean look and excellent function of your turn signals and tail lights. I recommend adding the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles # RM-156-25 to maintain your Edge battery while towing so it isn't depleted on a long trip, but that is optional.
You will not need the additional diodes or the converter you mentioned because you don't need separate turn signals from the stop lamps when towing the vehicle. They can be combined just like they are on most trailers for far less fuss.
With the supplemental braking system required to flat tow in almost all states, you will need the Roadmaster Brake-Lite relay # RM-88400 to keep the towed vehicle's brake signal from overriding the turn signal from the RV when applying the brakes during a turn.
If you do not already have a supplemental braking system, then I recommend the SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # SM99251. This braking system will allow you to adjust the settings at installation only and then it becomes a plug and play system with literally a flip of the switch.
If you don't have all the other components you need, I also recommend the Roadmaster base plate kit # 4408-1, the tow bar # RM-520, and safety chains # RM-643. You likely will also need a high low adapter, so I've attached some links and article to help.
Let me know if you have further questions.
