For the most part the products mentioned in the answer page that you referenced for the 2014 Honda CR-V can be used for your 2007 Honda CR-V. The only difference is that the Curt 4-Way Flat Connector # C56158 will not fit your 2007 CR-V. Instead you need the Curt T-Connector # C55106.

Once you have installed this 4-Way on your CR-V you can then install the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 and a brake controller like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 that was recommended. If you like the features of the P2 then I recommend checking out the Prodigy P3 # 90195 as well. This is the upgraded version of the P2 and it comes with an LCD screen that makes it easier to use as it takes reading codes out of the equation. Attached are review videos for each for you to check out.

I have attached install videos for both the Curt T-Connector and the ETBC7 with the P2 for you to reference. If you decide to go with the P3 over the P2 the installation will still be the exact same.

To tow your trailer you also need a trailer hitch and a ball mount kit. If you don't already have a trailer hitch then I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75547 because it has the highest weight capacities of the available options which indicates a really strong design. Another thing that I like about this trailer hitch is that is has a mounting bracket already welded on for you to easily mount the ETBC7 kit to.

If you don't already have a ball mount kit then I recommend going with something like the etrailer.com Kit # EBMK4 which comes with 1-7/8" and 2" hitch ball sizes as well as a ball mount that has a 2-3/4" rise/4" drop. Attached is a ball mount article for you to check out to make sure that the rise/drop is correct for your towing application.
